Precision Stencil Cutting

Stencils by A.L.C.: High-Precision Custom Stencils in Los Angeles

In a city defined by its visual culture—from the street art of the Arts District to the industrial warehouses of Vernon—the ability to repeat an image perfectly, hundreds of times, is a powerful tool. A stencil is more than just a piece of plastic with holes in it; it is a force multiplier for your brand. It turns a single logo file into a repeatable asset that can mark shipping crates, sidewalks, walls, t-shirts, and even coffee foam.

At Stencils by A.L.C. (a division of American Laser Cutter), we specialize in fabricating industrial-grade, high-resolution stencils. We move beyond the limitations of flimsy paper or hand-cut acetate. Using high-speed CO2 laser systems, we cut durable materials that withstand solvents, paint, and heavy use, ensuring that your 500th impression looks as crisp as your first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What file format do you need?

We need vector files: .AI, .PDF, or .DXF. All fonts must be converted to outlines (curves). If you only have a JPEG or PNG image, our designers can trace and vectorize it for a small additional design fee.

What is "bridging" and do I need to do it?

Bridging is the process of adding small tabs to hold floating shapes (like the center of an 'O', 'A', or 'D') in place so they don’t fall out. You don’t have to do it yourself! Send us your standard logo, and our team will add the necessary bridges to make it "stencil-ready."

How large can you cut?

Our maximum single sheet size is 48 inches x 36 inches. However, for larger projects like wall murals or parking lot markings, we can "tile" the design across multiple sheets. We add registration marks so you can easily line them up perfectly on the wall.

Can I clean and reuse the stencils?

Yes, absolutely. Our Mylar stencils are solvent-proof. You can clean them with acetone, paint thinner, mineral spirits, or warm soapy water depending on the paint you used. With proper care, a Mylar stencil can last for hundreds of uses.

What is your turnaround time?

Our standard turnaround time is 3-5 business days. However, we know Los Angeles moves fast. We offer Next-Day Rush services for urgent projects if the file is submitted before 12:00 PM.
